A 77-YEAR-OLD Leeton man will front court today after he was charged with allegedly possessing child abuse material and firearms offences.

The man will appear in Griffith Local Court after officers received a tip-off from the community.
Acting on the information, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Leeton about 12pm on Wednesday, March 10.
During the search, investigators seized an unsecured air rifle, methylamphetamine (ice) and electronic devices.

All items seized will undergo forensic examination.
The 77-year-old man was arrested and taken to Leeton Police Station, where he was charged with possess child abuse material, possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely, and supply prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear in court today.
