Police were patrolling on Irrigation Way at Yanco around 10.40pm when they detected a male driver, 30, in a Holden Commodore allegedly travelling in excess of 130km/h in the 100km/h zone.
Officers attempted to stop the driver, but the man allegedly refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated, with speeds of up to 185km/h being reached.
Officers continued for about five kilometres before the Narrandera driver stopped.

He was arrested and also returned a positive breath test.
The man was taken to Narrandera Police Station where a blood alcohol analysis allegedly revealed a reading of 0.175.
The driver was charged with police pursuit, exceeding the speed limit by over 45kmh, high range PCA, drive in a manner that is dangerous and his licence was suspended.
He was issued with a court attendance notice to appear in Narrandera Local Court at a later date.
Man allegedly assaults officers after police pursuit
EARLIER that morning around 1.45am police were involved in a pursuit through several streets in Leeton.
Officers attempted to stop a red Toyota in Oak Street at that time, with the 42-year-old driver initially pulling over.
However, once police approached the vehicle the man allegedly drove away.
Officers pursued the vehicle through several streets and allege they saw the man throw a backpack from the vehicle.
The motorist eventually stopped in Hickory Street.
However, when police attempted to arrest the man, they were allegedly met with resistance.
Officers used a taser and OC spray while attempting to gain control of the man before he was arrested and taken to Leeton police station.
The backpack was retrieved, allegedly containing a small amount of cannabis.
He was charged with drive in a manner dangerous, police pursuit, possess prohibited drug, resist arrest and assault police.
The man was given conditional bail to appear in Leeton Local Court in April.
