A MAN was caught red-handed vandalising a Leeton school over the weekend.

The 19-year-old was arrested at Parkview Public School after police were called around 5.30am by residents in the area who had heard loud noises coming from the area.
Officers arrived shortly after receiving the call and were able to apprehend the man, who had allegedly smashed and damaged nine classroom windows at the school.
Signs of blood were also spotted.
The damaged windows were able to be safely boarded up on Sunday afternoon before students returned to school on Monday.

Officers took statements while at the scene on Sunday morning before taking the man back to the Leeton police station where he was later charged with malicious damage and trespass.
He will now face court at a later date.
