Happening at this time were various sporting endeavours, including locally and on a representative scale.
Residents from some businesses and Leeton Shire Council travelled to Sydney to participate in the Country Change expo, which encouraged city dwellers to consider moving to towns such as Leeton.
Leeton High School was rewarding several of its students for the academic capabilities and the Leeton Show Society was on the hunt for Showgirl competition entrants.
Murrami Public School held events as part of NAIDOC Week and Leeton Shire Council staff members met with the then Member for Murrumbidgee Adrian Piccoli to discuss Petersham Road.
