Bridie Carter, who is well-known as playing Tess in McLeod's Daughters, popped by the theatre to say a quick hello via a video chat recently.
Guests at a recent reception marking the mid-point of rehearsals for Henry V were thrilled when she suddenly appeared via video link on the Roxy Theatre's big screen.
Ms Carter said she fell in love with the Roxy when she came to Leeton in mid 2018 as part of a reunion of McLeod's Daughters cast members.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In a surprise announcement, Ms Carter revealed she was "120 per cent" behind emerging proposals to include a performing arts training and mentorship program in a redeveloped Roxy.
While plans for such a body are in the early stages she said she would like to be "involved in some capacity" for the opportunity this would provide regional communities.
Ms Carter has links with both the head of the Roxy Redevelopment Committee, Katherine Herrmann, and former Home and Away star, Jake Speer, who is co- directing and starring in Henry V.
She went to school with Ms Herrmann and, like Mr Speer, is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
Together, they share an impressive network of potential partners who are interested in collaborating with the Roxy.
Both Mr Speer and Ms Herrmann say people will shortly hear more about how such a program could become a permanent feature of the new look Roxy Theatre when it re opens in 2022.
Henry V will be the final production to be staged at the theatre before the works start.
Meanwhile, its cast, costumers, stage designers and set constructors are about to enter a period of high pressure work in the countdown to opening night on April 21.
"We'll have a short break over Easter and then it'll be hard, hard work for the remaining time," Mr Speer said.
Tickets for the four night season are available at www.roxyleeton.com.au or visit the Roxy box office, which is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 1pm.
