Vicki Ryan and her daughter Jessica Looby recently participated in this year's Riverina Redneck Rally, which raises money for Country Hope.
The five day trek took in hundreds of kilometres and was able to be completed before most of the state was drenched in rain.
Vicki has participated in the rally before, but this was Jessica's first time, with the pair enjoying spending quality time together, as well as catching up with old and new friends along the way.
"My husband Rodney and I drove a support vehicle for two years, then last year we got a car going and I went with another lady and this year with Jessica," Vicki said.
"Rodney has continued as a support driver. We all had a great time.
"What I like most about the rally is raising money for sick children and we now have a great 'rally family'. It's been amazing."
The rally mostly takes in back roads and can be tricky going for drivers, but there were no major hiccups in 2021.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The group as a whole also managed to smash their fundraising target despite a difficult time raising money due to COVID restrictions.
"We'll definitely be back again next year ... the fundraising for that will start up again soon," Vicki said.
