There is nothing like waking up to the sound of the hot air balloons on Good Friday, which is exactly what happened this year.
While my dogs certainly are not keen on the balloons going overhead, it is by far my favourite part of the Easter holiday.
Admittedly though, this was the first year that I have not been down to the ovals to watch the balloons go up in the mornings.
Normally I would sneak down on my own before the kids get out of bed, but this year I never got there.
I set my alarm early on Saturday morning but when it went off, the temptation to stay in bed was just too great - I kind of regret that decision now though.
My sleep-in did give me the energy I needed to go to the Leeton Farmer's Markets however and I am so glad I did.
There were so many great stalls and it was a wonderful atmosphere.
Congratulations to the organising committee on a wonderful event.
The classic cars lapping around town on Saturday also added to the great Easter atmosphere.
You would hardly know that it was not a SunRice Festival year.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Here at the Leeton Soldiers Club we had a huge couple of days. And we wouldn't have been able to do any of it if it wasn't for our dedicated team members.
Hospitality staff are often the unsung heroes around the holiday periods - they give up their valuable personal time with friends and family to help ensure the rest of us are enjoying ourselves.
So, on behalf of all of us out there, thank you to those who worked this past weekend.
Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
