It was a disrupted day with TLU pulling out of the knockout last week while West Wyalong waited until Friday to withdraw from the competition.

Waratahs were meant to take on TLU in the first round but instead secured passage straight into the semi-final, where they defeated Yanco-Wamoon.

Leeton took a 14-4 win over Darlington Point Coleambally in the first round before seeing off a challenging Yenda side to secure their place in the final.

The Greens were able to open the scoring midway through the first half, with Jordan Demarzo able to make the most of the space out on the wing to sprint away and score in the corner.

Leeton was able to assert more scoreboard pressure, with Kirtis Fisher able to push his way over the line to see the Greens leading 10-0 at halftime.

Will Barnes extended that advantage in the opening stages of the second half after he darted out of dummy half to score before Josh Fisher all but put the game to bed when he was able to twist his way over the line.

The Waratahs were able to score a late consolation try, with Billy Maiava able to pounce on the end of a grubber kick just before it went over the dead-ball line.

Leeton's coach Hayden Philp is happy with how his side is shaping up for the start of the season.

"I am really proud of how the boys handled themselves," he said.

"We will have those couple of injuries that we will have to look after, but we will see how they pull up in the coming weeks.

"We are working really hard on the defence in the couple of trials that we have had, and I'm happy with where it is heading."

Philp said the Greens team spirit was on full display on the day, and he feels that was the key to success.

"I think it was just everyone sticking together and getting around each other," he said.

"We were down against Yenda, and we came back in the second half, and we just built from there."

The Group 20 season proper will get underway on May 1.
