The first round match saw the Tolland Wolves make their way to Leeton with the visitors put under immense pressure from the start.
United coach Frank Alampi said it was a good result and the team played well but said players could have been more clinical in scoring goals.
"It was a good hit out, we've only had one trial game. We had a few boys away for the trial match so this was our first game together," he said.
United pushed hard leaving Tolland defending in their own half for much of the first 45 minutes.
Alampi said Tolland scrambled hard in defence to resist the pressure from Leeton and their goalkeeper was able to stop several shots from hitting the back of the net.
He said the team eased up after one of Tolland's players was sent off late in the first half.

At half-time, Alampi spoke to his players, encouraging them to leave no doubt about the result of the match.
During the middle of the second half Leeton scored three goals in five minutes, and at full-time the score stood at 11-nil.
"It sounds silly to say it should have been more, but in a tight match, the chances you miss can make a difference," Alampi said.
"It's round one, we'll take it," he said.
However, Leeton's coach said the first match win was just a win and expected to see the team's players continue to improve each week.
"You can't not be happy with how we played and we can always improve."
Alampi highlighted the efforts of Adam Raso, Fred Gardner, Jake Shelton and Nick Trifogli.
"Nick was our man of the match, (but) they all played well, no one had a bad game."
Leeton United's second match will be played in Tumut against the Eagles.
