Last year the COVID-19 pandemic meant official services were not allowed to go ahead and residents had to observe the occasion from home, with many taking to their driveways with a candle to hold a minute silence at dawn on April 25.
While 2021 won't return to normal as such, Leeton shire's services will be going ahead.
A dawn service will start the day, beginning with a form up at 5.45am.
The Leeton RSL Sub-branch is encouraging all ex-service, current serving, uniformed personnel and descendants of the shire's deceased local veterans to march.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Residents are also welcome to gather at the cenotaph for the short service, which will start at the completion of the march.
Following this the main march and service will get underway.
The main march form up will be at 9.45am at the Leeton Court House, with necessary QR registration prior for all participants.
The march is restricted to school captains, prefects, and leaders of any other local organisations in 2021.
Again, crowds can gather at the cenotaph for the official service. No check-ins are required for those present for either service, but social distancing regulations must be followed.
"We did think everyone would need to check in for the service, but this is no longer a requirement according to the state government because they made some changes," Leeton RSL Sub-branch president Peter Williams said.
"We won't be holding our breakfast this year after the dawn service for a number of reasons, but we hope to still have plenty of people at that service.
"I think everyone is looking forward to being able to pay their respects again.
"Last year we did raise the flag at the cenotaph during the day at the times we would have normally had services, but there was only one or two of us there (due to the pandemic and its restrictions).
"We're looking forward to having a crowd there this year, we just need to make sure people are social distancing and those who are marching will need to check in. We have a COVID plan in place for them."
Later in the day a service will also be held in Whitton, starting at 3pm with the march to start outside the Rice Bowl Hotel to the park memorial gates.
"We're hoping people in the community can get along to at least one of the services on the day," Mr Williams said.
