Henry V opened to a large audience on Wednesday evening before continuing on with its second show on Thursday night.
The Irrigator was lucky enough to be invited along to a preview night of the show on Tuesday night and, even though the performance was seemingly a dress rehearsal for opening night, the only way to describe the production is first-class.
The performances by all of those involved, led by actor and first-time director Leeton's Jake Speer, Henry V is a show not to be missed.
When sitting in the audience not only is it evident to see all of the hard work that has been put into bringing the show together, but the passion shown by everyone involved gives a whole new dimension to the experience.
Henry V is displaying just what the Roxy Theatre is capable of when it comes to putting on and hosting large-scale performances.
With the redevelopment set to start very soon, this production only highlights what is set to become the norm for this building in the years ahead.
The show is a offering only a limited run, with remaining performances to be held at 7pm tonight at the Roxy Theatre, as well as Saturday evening.
Tickets are flying out the door, so anyone wanting to take in this top-rate production needs to get in fast to secure their seat.
IN OTHER NEWS:
One thing is for sure - they won't be disappointed.
Even if Shakespeare has never been your thing, it's easy to follow along with the storyline as the music, lighting, sound and acting will leave you on the edge of your seat.
A specially made Boar's Head Inn has also been created next door to the theatre in former Crate Cafe building, which will provide a space for nibbles and drinks before the show gets underway, allowing the audience to really get into the mood and theme of the production.
Tickets are available at the Roxy Theatre box office, but will close online 24 hours before each show gets underway.
