Held at 3pm on Sunday, members of the Whitton community were once again able to gather for their Anzac Day service for the first time since 2019.
The Leeton RSL Sub-branch was again on hand to lead the short service, which began with a march from the Rice Bowl Hotel to the town's memorial park gates.
School students from Whitton-Murrami Public School were among those taking part, as well as veterans and descendants of those who have fought in conflicts over the years.
Wreaths were laid at the gates, with The Last Post sounded and a minute silence giving participants time to reflect on the sacrifices made on behalf of the life being lived out by all Australians today.
The Leeton Pipe Band also had members in attendance, playing during the march to the memorial gates.
Whitton's service is typically the final one to be held in the shire each year on Anzac Day and this was no different in 2021.
IN OTHER NEWS:
It provided a fitting way to round out what had been a day of tributes and remembrance throughout the Leeton area.
An afternoon tea followed the service, which was also well attended and allowed for community members to catch up and share their memories.
