Emergency services were called to the Lakes Road railway crossing in Tharbogang at about 9:30am, after the passenger train collided with a truck crossing the railway line.

The truck driver and all passengers on the train are uninjured, however significant damage has been done to the truck driver's vehicle, which has been flipped on its side.

The train appeared to be slightly damaged as a result of the incident.

Paramedics assessed the truck driver and the three train conductors, who were all uninjured and did not require transport to hospital.

The heritage train was carrying 87 passengers from Griffith to Goolgowi, all of whom were also uninjured.

Passengers were initially left stranded on the train for over an hour, however they have now been transported to Goolgowi via coach.

Police are making inquiries relating to the incident, however they have said it does not appear alcohol or drugs were involved.
