Previously Leeton Golf Course has hosted charity golfing days to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), however this will be the first charity golfing day where the funds raised will go towards supporting cancer patients within the local Leeton community.
Jason Mimmo, a golf pro and manager at Jason's Golf Shop on the Leeton Golf Course said that the golf club had been toying with the idea for a charity golfing event such as this for a long time.
"Really, what is most important to us is that the funds go local," Mr Mimmo said.
According to Mr Mimmo, registrations are now open for teams of four.
"Experienced players will be able to start the day from 8am on the full 18 hole course and less experienced players, including juniors, will have a more staggered start to play nine holes from midday."
Susan Ekan, a welfare officer with Can Assist Leeton said that all of the funds raised will go directly to those in need within the Leeton community.

"The aim of the day is to raise money for locals that need financial assistance as they undertake treatment for cancer," Mrs Ekan said.
Leeton Golf Club also runs other charitable golfing events throughout the year.
"We hold our MS charity day annually in November and our St Vincent De Paul Day in June," Mr Mimmo said.
"Ideally we aim to hold up to five charity events every year to support the charitable work of local organizations helping those in need."
Soups, slices and sandwiches will also be available for players for lunch
To register a team please call Jason Mimmo on 6953 3292.
Participants are reminded to please wear pink on the day.
"If you haven't got a PINK shirt I have a few in-store and will donate $10 per shirt sale to the Charity on the day!" said Mr Mimmo.
Also available on the day will be a Pink Callaway Golf Ball for those extra keen at $5 each.
