The court was officially opened on Wednesday in an event run in conjunction with the Leeton Basketball Association and Parkview Primary School.
Mel Waterson, Creative Community Concepts Operations and Projects Coordinator said that the half basketball court was a long time in the making.
"We have been planning this for more than two years so it is wonderful to see all that hard work come into fruition," Mrs Waterson said.
The event began with a traditional welcome to Wiradjeri land by William Ingram.
Students from the Wiradjuri dance group, from an assortment of local schools then performed a traditional dance for attendees alongside a didgeridoo performance for the community.
Most of the students were making their debut performances as part of the dance troupe for the first time in public.

Principal of Parkview Primary School Travis Irwin said that the half basketball court was an enormous cause to be celebrated for the kids of Wattle Hill.
"A real challenge for kids is ways to dispose of their time meaningfully," Mr Irvin said.
"Previously, the kids of Wattle Hill would have to walk a few kilometers to use a park with facilities like Gossamer Park now has."
Student youth leaders from Leeton High School were also in attendance and will volunteer their time to run basketball related activities at the court in the coming weeks as part of an accreditation program for a basic community coaching course.
"We really hope that this new court makes every single kid feel valued, this park is accessible for everyone."
A barbecue was also held for the community by volunteers to celebrate the occassion.
