The iconic white overalls have now been replaced with a new kit of green tops, the volunteers excited that they will no longer have to bleach out the many stains they receive whilst responding to jobs.
These new uniforms are better designed, more comfortable and safer for VRA volunteers as the uniform is now two piece and made with a fire retardant material.
VRA Leeton President Paul Smith said that just because the uniforms had changed, it did not mean that the service the VRA in Leeton had.
"It is the same dedicated service with a new look," Mr Smith said.
The new uniforms are due to increased funding from the NSW Government.
"Our government is finally recognising the vital service that each and every VRA volunteer does for the local community.
"These new uniforms really bring us up to speed with other emergency services and their clothing requirements."
