Students are preparing for the iconic and larger than life characters we all know and love from the Shrek movie franchise in its musical theatre adaption.
Year 10 student Dominic Ramos plays the titular character of Shrek and said while he definitely has ogre-sized shoes to fill, he was excited to take on the role.
"I love musical theatre and I would love to pursue it as a career once day, so being involved really is a stepping stone for me," Dominic said.
However, the passion and love of musical theatre isn't what attracted year 11 student Ryan Butler into auditioning for the role of Donkey.
"Musical theatre is not my usual thing and I really had to be pushed into auditioning, but now that I have gotten the role, I am having so much fun," he said. "Donkey is a really fun and stupid character to play."
Finley Sales in year 9 will play Lord Farquaad, the totalitarian dictator of the kingdom of Dulop who tries to steal Princess Fiona's heart and is the villain of the show.
He will dance, act, sing and perform his heart out as the character, however he will do so all on his knees with the help and much-needed support of some trusty knee pads thanks to the shortness of the original character.

"I'll be on my knees for the entire show, but it's all worth it," Finley said.
"He is such a funny character and I am really excited to play him, even if he is the villain."
Meghan Davidson-Curtain takes on the "human version" of Fiona and said she was loving the experience.
"I have previously enjoyed performing in the shows Leeton High School has put on and I am excited this year to have a leading part in the show," Meghan said.
"Shrek the Musical mocks the average fairytale, it's different and unexpected."
Performances will be held on June 22 at 11:30am, June 23 at 11:30am and 7:30pm and June 24 at 7pm.
