Several of the young women who had been scheduled to take part last year, but were unable to due to COVID-19 restrictions, were part of the 19-strong contingent who made their debut on Friday evening.
"Many of the girls who were planning to take part last year had already bought their dress and were ready to go before we had to cancel, so it was nice they were able to still take part this year," ball co-organiser Polly Greatz said.
"It was a really great event. The girls and many of their parents told us how thankful they were that we were able to put this year's ball on.
"They were another great bunch of young women and men."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Special guest as matron of honour in 2021 was Jeanette Washington, who has been involved with the St Joseph's parish for many years.
Her husband Bruce was the MC on the night, while Party Boys Rockin' had the crowd up and dancing all evening.
"In the end, it was a relief to see everything come together," Mrs Greatz said.
"Even this year with the planning it was difficult as rules were changing all of the time, but we got there in the end.
We'd love to have more helpers come on board.

"The main thing is the the girls and their partners were able to take part and have their family there with them. It's a great tradition to have in town still because not a lot of other places do these balls anymore."
Paige Purtill was the choreographer for the official dances on the night.
Mrs Greatz thanked all of those involved with the planning and preparations for the night for their assistance.
Anyone who would like to help organise next year's ball is more than welcome to assist the current committee, which is made up of just a small number of residents.
"We'd love to have more helpers come on board," Mrs Greatz said.
