However, they will now have to do so at a later date thanks to the COVID pandemic throwing chaos into the mix across the state again this week.
Mrs Dalton had planned to hold a public meeting in Leeton this coming Tuesday to discuss concerns surrounding the Leeton District Hospital.
However, she has now had to postpone that community meeting after she was advised the Parliament Building of NSW was a COVID exposure site.
Mrs Dalton had been in parliament this week where a government minister tested positive for COVID.
She was immediately tested for the virus and, as of Thursday afternoon, was self-isolating until receiving further instruction from NSW Health.
"Unfortunately, I will need to cancel my meetings next week, including the very important community meeting on Leeton hospital and mental health," Mrs Dalton said in an online post.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I will reschedule to a later date - the last thing I want to do is risk spreading COVID in the community."
Prior to the happenings in parliament on Thursday, Mrs Dalton told The Irrigator it was time for the Leeton community to take a stand.
"Leeton feels left out ... I know we had a forum before I was elected, but it is high time we had another for people to come and give their point of view and their experiences," Mrs Dalton said.
"I think what has happened to the Leeton hospital in the last 20-odd years is just disgraceful. It's time we reverse what's happening and that it gets back on track to really serve the community."
Mrs Dalton welcomes the Murrumbidgee Local Health District to attend the forum when it has been rescheduled.
"We want change ... Leeton deserves better," Mrs Dalton said.
