The clubhouse will now be able to be built thanks to a grant of $425,500 coming through from the state government.

This funding comes on top of a further $550,000, which has already been secured through other means such as fundraising and donations.

The original clubhouse was torn down more than a decade go and since then golfers have been left without a "real home".

The goal of this new facility once completed will of course be for golfers to meet before and after hitting the links, but it will also be available for the community, families and the like to utilise for functions.

A development application for the new clubhouse has already been approved. There have been some small changes to the design, which may require further approval, but it appears it's all systems go.

Golfer and volunteer Jacqui Walsh was responsible for writing the successful grant, giving up her holidays to do so.

"I'm thrilled we've been successful with this grant application ... it's a big deal for the club and for the town," she said.

"(This) is going to ensure we have another incredible sporting facility in the community of Leeton."

Leeton Golf Club president John Martin was also relieved the remaining money for the project had been secured.

"It's what we have been hoping for and trying for," he said.

"There's a lot that still needs to happen, but everyone is very excited we can now officially get going with everything.

"It's great news and it will really add to that area as a precinct with the golf course and all the improvements at the showground."

The money has been funded under the NSW Sport Regional Sports Facility Fund.

It outlines why the clubhouse will be more than just its name suggests and why it is so important for the community to have.

"This project is about building a golfing sports facility on the Leeton golf course where the original clubhouse was built in 1913.

The funding will allow for construction of a new building, replete with café style kitchen, open plan clubroom, covered outdoor area, disabled toilets, and change rooms complemented by the installation of digital technology to maximize the use of Wi-Fi technologies now available in golf and social communities.

The inclusion of the pro shop into this space allows us to provide administration to our golfing and social members and the digital technology brings with it an opportunity to have state of the art golfing online booking system, daily competition and result boards and a hard-wired security system.

The inclusion of a golf simulator will provide the golf club with an innovative 21st Century approach to connect with juniors, schools, and the wider community as an introduction and coaching tool.

This simulator will be used by the golfing professional for coaching, club fitting and professional clinic opportunities from inside the golfing facility.

The covered outdoor area allows for family and friends to gather under the cover and provides a state-of-the-art amenity fully inclusive for golfing and community members.

This area will be utilized as a barbecue area where events for golfers, social and fundraising can take place.

The exclusion of a gambling section shows the clubs commitment and focus to make this facility about golf, families and an inclusive community encompassing healthy lifestyle choices through golf, open space and outdoor activities.

To minimise running costs the facility will have solar panels installed to lower costs and become more self-sufficient through sustainability."
