Brisbane Road took out the A grade premiership on the weekend, defeating Sydney FC 3-1.
Western Sydney Wanderers defeated Melbourne Victory in the consolation final.
Awards: Jack Crowe (best and fairest), Ben Brennan (top goal scorer), Isaac Creek (encouragement award).
Thanks to president Rod Harrison, registrar Toni Lamont and senior men's players who assisted during the season.
Miniroos
THIS year 120 children participated in the miniroos competition, which had age groups of five years, six/seven years and eight/nine years.
Awards:
Six/seven years: Jaxon Weymouth (best and fairest), Hudson Lashbrook (top goal scorer), Sage Sloan (encouragement award).
Eight/nine years: Brock Marks (best and fairest), Cooper Devalentin (top goal scorer), Chloe Mallamace (encouragement award).
Special mention to Bryton Tuckett from Perth Glory in the six/seven years, who finished just behind Hudson Lashbrook in the goal-scoring tally.
Again, thanks to president Harrison for overseeing the competition and for completing all of the general duties involved in running the junior fixture.
Thanks also to Lamont for the work that goes into registrations.
Special mentions:
Catherine Gray for running the canteen each week, Megan West for all publicity work, Alistair Fattore for putting the five years group through their paces each week, senior men's and women's players for their help in the canteen, field setup, coaching and refereeing.
Also to senior men's reserve grade coach Rhys Jones, who was there every Thursday night and every early Saturday morning to help out with anything required.
To Scott Munro for his time, care and patience put into running this program for the players. Without Munro it wouldn't be possible to achieve such a successful initiative.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Finally, to all Leeton United Football Club juniors, well done on a great season, it was great to see so many enjoying playing soccer.
Thanks to the parents/guardians for getting children involved and bringing them along each week.
The club hopes to see everyone back for another big season in 2022.
