It feels like a lifetime ago that we started, but in fact, it has only been about 20 weeks.
The main bar and coffee shop areas are all but finished and we expect to be moving into our new back reception and gaming areas in the very near future.
The majority of the work so far has been relatively smooth sailing, but it has definitely given me some insight into the world of renovations.
Probably a good thing as 2021 was meant to be the "year of the new kitchen" for our family home.
I have never renovated anything before, so I have to admit, I completely underestimated the amount of planning and work that is involved with such jobs.
It is all the extra things that I would never have considered like the extra power connections that might be needed and the possible water supply considerations, not to mention all the trades that need to be co-ordinated.
So many important decisions to be made for such a small space.
But we are very lucky here in Leeton that we have so many talented tradies to choose from - we are kind of spoilt from that perspective.
So, while I have a list of things I know I don't want to do in my new kitchen, the list of things I do want is currently much shorter.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Aside from a dishwasher and a new oven, I'm not really sure what I want.
Although just the thought of my very own dishwasher is enough to make me very excited.
Sad, I know.
I'm honestly hoping someone will just turn up and renovate my kitchen one day while I'm at work and I will just love everything about it.
Wouldn't it be nice if life was that easy.
