The Hawks hosted Tullibigeal-Lakes United on Sunday, sending the Sharks packing with a massive 68-12 victory to finally hand them their second win of the 2021 season.
It was an excellent outing for Yanco-Wamoon who had been looking forward to returning to the field after a couple of weeks off.
Their hit out and resulting points on the board was a result of putting in plenty of hard yards during their recent break, with defence and cohesion working in the team's favour.
Lachlan Pengelly starred for the Hawks, bringing home several tries throughout the match.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The win will please co-coaches Troy Preston and Kane Hammond as they now face a tough challenge this weekend when they host the first-placed Greens.
The team will re-calibrate again and hope they can push their old rivals in what could be one of Yanco-Wamoon's last games of the season.
It will be the second time the two clubs have met in the 2021 season.
The Hawks had been hoping to use the weekend to host their 50th anniversary celebrations, but ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and rules has meant those festivities have had to be put on hold for now.
