The planned school holiday disco and kids activity days at the hall will hopefully make a return for the next school holidays.
The much-anticipated primary school Snowy Mountains excursion was another short-notice cancellation.
Staff are in consultation with the organizers to hopefully get another time slot before the snow melts.
The small school athletics carnival was also postponed, but it ended up taking place this week.
However, the last week of term two was a good one for the students as they got to see Shrek! The Musical performance by Leeton High School.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Then on the last day of the term, the whole of Whitton had a planned, all day power outage, so the students went on an adventure to Lake Wyangan Public School where they were treated to a special performance by the school band.
Another casualty was the Whitton Rice Bowl camp oven cook off.
This was to be a fundraiser for the Riverina Redneck Rally that raises funds for Country Hope.
Organizers will be keen to hold this event once it is safe again to do so.
They will also have many other events coming up once the time is right to hold them again.
Whitton spirits will be given a lift in September with singer Sara Storer to perform at the Whitton Community Hall as part of a tour being organized by the National Recovery and Resilience Agency.
Along with Sara's performance there will be representatives from services such as the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and Rural Financial Counselling Service attending for people to have a chat to.
More details to come as this tour will also be at the mercy of COVID.
