It is no secret the Leeton District Hospital is under pressure - the community has long called for a permanent doctor to be at the facility, but nothing appears to be changing.
IN OTHER NEWS:
An operating theatre at the hospital is sitting unused.
All of these issues are mounting and, without the community pushing for a better outcome for our hospital, services will continue to be downgraded.
The Irrigator is now mounting a campaign to put pressure on the Murrumbidgee Local Health District and politicians across state and federal departments to do more and hear the pleas of residents here.
We need the community to back this campaign and share their stories, their experiences and help us show why we need a permanent doctor at our hospital and why services across the across the board need improving.
We want to hear from you. Without the power of the people nothing will get done.
The time for sitting back and letting someone else handle our town's issues is over. We need to join together as one and show why Leeton shire deserves better.
We commend the staff at the hospital for doing the best they can in tough circumstances - this campaign isn't about criticizing them, but helping to improve their work environment.

After all, we are a thriving community with plenty to offer and to give. We're a generous town and there's no doubting it is a beautiful place to live.
However, without a properly-staffed and functioning hospital, we're on our knees.
We need help and we need it now.
Please come forward and share your stories with us to keep this campaign going.
