The pair had survived a number of tight matches to get to the final and their opponents, Max Douglas and Tony Spadaro, were expected to challenge them as well.
This however, was not the case on the day.
In a very one-sided affair, the champions won convincingly 29-16.
Quite simply, they couldn't do a thing wrong and we couldn't do a thing right
- Max Douglas
In fact, so one-sided was the match that the runners-up could only manage to score two shots in the first 13 ends and were looking down the barrel of a humiliating defeat.
However, they did manage to get some multiple shots in the last five ends to make the score line a little more respectable.
A circumspect Douglas was honest in his summation of the game stating "quite simply, they couldn't do a thing wrong and we couldn't do a thing right".
For Maybon, it was a continuation of some recent stellar form, which saw him win the prestigious major singles club championship recently for the first time.
IN OTHER NEWS:
His opponent that day was again Douglas, who will be having nightmares of Maybon drawing to the jack.
The two victories have seen him rocket to the top-of-the-table for the club's bowler of the year award.
He is again partnering with Everett, as well as Graham Stockton in the club's triples championship.
It will take a very good side to prevent Maybon from taking out a hat-trick of events.
