However, that is the chance young Leeton resident Josh Taylor, who turns just 19 next month, has taken.

The Irrigator caught up with Mr Taylor just days before the regional NSW lockdown was implemented, which also happened to be the opening week of his new business - The Men's Closet.

The retail fashion store is brand new for Leeton, offering stylish and affordable men's fashion and accessories.

Located in the main street, Mr Taylor decided to open the business to provide more clothing options for men without them having to head out of town to do so.

It's a big leap for Mr Taylor, who is not only learning the ropes of operating a small business, but now also having to deal with the pandemic and the recent lockdown announcement.

On top of all of that, he is also completing his hairdressing apprenticeship, currently completing his second year of study and work in this area.

"I'm working here on Saturday and Sundays (when the business can re-open) as well as Mondays, and the other days I have family helping me out," Mr Taylor said.

"Then I'm doing hairdressing the rest of the week. It will be a bit of a juggle, but this is something I wanted to do.

"I wanted to be able to offer some different options for men here in Leeton. It was really fun getting the store all set up and the renovations we've done.

"It's a nice, big open space so there's plenty of room to browse and see what we have in store."

There's also a unisex fitness line in store, as well as casual and going out gear, bright, colourful and fun shirts and many other stylish options.

"There's not many other options for men's clothing in Leeton, so I thought why not give it a go and see what happens," Mr Taylor said.
