Women in rural and regional Australia wanting to create an impact, innovate and make a difference to their communities are encouraged to apply for the 2022 AgriFutures Women's Award and a new AgriFutures Women's Acceleration Grant.

The AgriFutures Rural Women's Award has a revised and tightened criteria for 2022 which requires applicants to have an existing project, business or program which falls into a Community, Collaboration or Commercial category.
Since it's inception, the Award has seen close to 300 women develop innovative projects that are contributing to a prosperous future for rural Australia.
Managing Director of AgriFutures Australia, John Harvey said that that the award was just one of many initiatives aimed at ensuring those working towards a vision of long term prosperity of rural and emerging industries are identified, celebrated and empowered.
"We know that there are so many rural women doing amazing things in their industries and communities and we want to hear from them," Mr Harvey said.
"If you know someone who is actively contributing to rural and regional Australia, tap them on the shoulder and encourage them to apply."
Each state and territory winner receives a $15,000 bursary, as well as professional development opportunities and national Alumni networks .

This year, AgriFutures has also developed a new program, the Rural Women's Acceleration Grant, aimed at fostering growth in women involved in Australia's rural and emerging industries, businesses and communities which will see seven women awarded a bursary of $7,000 to enable them to bring their idea, cause or vision to life.
It will be run separately to the Award, however will complement the process, aiming to provide a leadership and development opportunity to women who are not quite ready to apply for the Award.
Mr Harvey said he was 'thrilled' to launch the program and that it would equip rural women with 'the tools they need to make a real and tangible impact in their industry and community.'
"The Rural Women's Acceleration Grant is an important program as it provides a vehicle for emerging leaders across the nation to realise their potential," Mr Harvey said.
"It will nurture the development of new and exciting ideas."
Applications for both the Rural Women's Award and the Acceleration Grant are now open and close on October 8th.
