From Friday, weddings can again be held in NSW.
However, only five guests can attend in addition to those needed for the conduct of the wedding.
Coming into the busy spring wedding season, couples and the wedding industry alike are hoping lockdown ends and restrictions are eased so these happy days can go ahead either as planned or with some amendments.
However, with the vaccination process ongoing and what this will look like for weddings, has not yet been announced.
Border closures across the country also mean those living in Leeton and planning to hold their wedding here may not be able to have all of their interstate friends and relatives attend even if regional NSW is opened up.
Leeton shire celebrant Fran Artese was hopeful some weddings would be able to go ahead before the end of the year.
She said the majority of weddings she had been booked to officiate over in September had now been postponed.
"I'm really hoping the couples I have coming up in October will be able to go ahead, but you just don't know ... we don't know what will happen with lockdown or what the rules and restrictions will be at that time," Ms Artese said.
"It's so hard for the couples trying to make decisions.
"I feel for them, I really do."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Artese is a relatively new face to the wedding celebrant industry, but said it was something that brought her great joy.
It was after a work colleague joked with her for some time that he wanted her to marry him and his partner, but it wasn't something Ms Artese had ever seriously considered until that point.
After continued encouragement, she did sign up for the training and course to become an official celebrant.
However, the pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works both this year and in 2020.
"All we can do is stay positive and hopefully we'll be able to have weddings on again soon," Ms Artese said.
"We have a really lovely community of celebrants here in Leeton and I know we would all love to be back doing what we enjoy again very soon.
"It's a really special thing to be part of and trusted to do.
"I love it, so hopefully we have some good news soon."
In the meantime, Ms Artese encouraged couples planning their weddings to not give up hope.
"Some are just going with the smaller ceremony and planning a big party later on when it's allowed," she said.
