The Irrigator's sports journalist Liam Warren has put pen to paper to select who he thinks have been the standouts for this season.
Team of the Year 2021
Fullback
Makayla Bradshaw
The youngster has had a great first season in the senior competition. She is confident under the high ball and has speed to burn. She has been a handy addition to an strong Leeton side who finished the season undefeated and looking the favourites to take out the premiership.
Wingers
Anna McClure
She has picked up where she left off in 2019. The winger knows how to pick a gap, and with plenty of speed, if she finds the gap, she will race away to score. Another of the Greens consistent performers in the backline she has crossed for 14 tries which includes a couple of two try hauls.
Kady Amarant
Was one of the shining lights from the Mallee Chicks season, which saw them finish in fifth. A good burst of speed, she is dangerous whether she is on the edge or making a kick return up the middle.
Centres
Lily-Belle Misiloi
One of the most dynamic players in the competition. Even though she missed the opening couple of rounds of the season, the try-scoring machine made up for lost time to finish with 15 tries for the season. If she spots a gap, she will race away.
Beyonce Marela
Another player who is comfortable under the high ball and quick with her feet. She has shone in her first full season of senior league tag and is a part of a crop of talented youngsters coming through the ranks at the Black and Whites.
Five-eighth
Jessica McDonell
Has had a strong second season in her return to the Greens. A strong playmaker with a good passing game who is dangerous when running at a line. She has been a key component to the Greens finishing unbeaten.
Halfback
Shailyn Williams - coach
The experienced head at the Black and Whites has once again shown her talent this season while guiding around a talented young squad. Has a great ability to read the play and put in a smart kick or long pass when the opportunity arises
Hooker
Eliza Baddock
Has done a great job leading a new look Yenda side around the park in 2021 and helping them to a finishing position of third. Baddock is dangerous out of dummy half with quick feet and the ability to spot a gap.

Forwards
Elli Gill
Will get through a mountain of work running the ball up and trying to hit the gaps in the line. Has been a consistent performer this season for the Greens and will be key if the Greens get a chance to play in a grand final
Luci Lugsdin
The engine room of the Hay side. She has been an outstanding performer for the Magpies this season and finished the regular season as not only the leading try scorer but also took out the point-scoring.
Sophie McGregor
Another Green who can be dangerous when running at the line. Her quick hands have sent a number of teammates into holes in the defensive line, and her leadership on the field has been crucial.
Bench
Charlotte Rudd
Another of the youngsters coming through the ranks at the Greens. She has taken on the playmaker role in her first year of senior footy and has grown to be a key member of an undefeated side.
Ashleigh Penrith
She has been a key member of the Black and Whites for many seasons, and this year is no different. Has formed an integral component of the spine of the Panthers and is a threat with a dart from dummy half.
Madison Morris
It has been a strong season for one of the younger of the Sharks side. She helped her side reach the finals with a fifth-place finish and finished the season with nine tries.
Rachel-Rose Priest
Priest has been one of the youngsters who have consistently performed in their first year of senior footy. She finished with six tries and will be one to watch in the future.
