Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District conducted a search warrant in Hickory Street, Leeton on Tuesday September 7, which resulted in the man's arrest.

Police said alleged stolen property was recovered as a result of the search warrant.

The items were linked to alleged break and enters in the Griffith and Darlington Point areas.

The man was expected to be charged with a number of offences in relation to the search warrant and was due to appear in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, September 8.

LEETON police have also continued with their checks throughout the ongoing lockdown period.

In August there were 74 COVID-related infringements issued to residents and 12 so far in September.

Officer-in-charge at Leeton, Inspector Justin Cornes said the majority of these related to residents who weren't complying with the current stay-at-home orders in place.

"People not at home where they should be and others who are visiting people when they shouldn't be," Inspector Cornes said.

Other fines have been issued to residents who haven't been complying with mask rules that are also in place.
