To add some extra cheer, the Leeton Show Society is again participating in the "no show scarecrow" initiative, which was implemented in 2020 when agricultural shows across the country were cancelled.
This year 192 shows in NSW and 550 across Australia have faced adversity.
The vast majority have had to cancel their events.

Show societies have therefore wanted to start a conversation about the value of local shows, as well as connecting the show network through the "no show scarecrow" campaign in October.

"Leeton Show Society have issued a challenge with other show societies that Leeton will have the most scarecrows on display for 'no show scarecrow' during October, so let's do this.
"All you have to do is make a scarecrow of some sort, dress him/her in your favourite footy colours, character or whatever you like, place it at your front gate/farm gate or Leeton Showground, take a photo and upload to our Leeton Show Facebook page.
"Let's keep the show movement alive."
To make a scarecrow follow the instructions at https://www.agshowsnsw.org.au/.../noshows.../stepbystepguide.
