Just as happened last year, the event at the start of December in Mountford Park won't be able to go ahead as it normally would due to ongoing concerns surrounding the pandemic and restrictions and rules.
Light Up Leeton is run and organised by a dedicated band of volunteers from the community, who have had to make the tough call to pivot the event again this year.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The community concert and festivities in the park won't be going ahead, but the committee is currently working on other ways to ensure charities and organisations which typically use the event as a fundraiser to still be able to do so.
The focus will also be on residents throughout Leeton shire lighting up their homes for all to view and enjoy.
The idea will be not only for the community to see the stunning displays around town, but for visitors to town to come across for neighbouring centres to also view, but perhaps enjoy dinner beforehand, thereby helping the shire's economy during the festive season.
With the departure of long--time Light Up Leeton chairman Carl King, Robyn Retallick has stepped up into the role.
"We're working through what we can and can't do at the moment," Mrs Retallick said.
"It's very hard trying to plan events at the moment with restrictions and just not knowing what will happen with cases or if we'll be back in lockdown.
"We're still working on having something or a way to have community groups hold their fundraisers, so we'll let people know as soon as we have something set."
Light Up Leeton is typically one of the shire's most favoured and coveted Christmas traditions.
Shop owners and businesses in the main street will also be encouraged to 'light up' during the festive season for everyone to enjoy.
