Josie has been in the Leeton-Whitton Crows under 11s side for three seasons.
The South West Junior Football and Netball League recently held their annual presentation event, which was conducted online.
Josie polled well throughout the count to eventually take out the best and fairest honour for the league.
It was a special honour for the young player, who is looking forward to many more years of playing netball for the Crows.
Coming from a sporting family, Josie has been playing netball from a tender age, following in the footsteps of her mum Sally and her two older sisters Madeline and Amelia.
Josie mostly plays in the goal attack position, but has shown versatility to move to the centre court.
She said the award was a surprise and soon she will be receiving the medal in person.
"I like netball because you get to make lots of really good friends and it's just fun to play," Josie said.
Josie's under 11s side, as well as the Leeton-Whitton under 13s and two under 15s netball teams all enjoyed a successful 2021 season.
The teams were all looking forward to contesting the finals, but were unable to when regional NSW entered lockdown and community sport was effectively cancelled.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Having played netball already for many years, Josie is looking forward to continuing to build on her skills and being part of Leeton-Whitton teams as she gets older.
One of her favourite teams to play and defeat has become Narrandera, with a healthy rivalry always building between the two neighbouring towns no matter the sport.
With the junior Crows preparing to hold their virtual presentation evening on Friday, there's a high likelihood Josie will be adding to her trophy cabinet again.
However, while winning awards and games is fun, Josie said participating with friends and her family was what sport was all about.
