The Wagga club, who failed to win a game this year, has been able to lure Fletcher and Bas Blackett into the fold for 2022.

The Leeton products have had diverging paths, but will reunite to take on a new competition.

Brothers co-coach James Hay.is pleased to have them on board.

Fletcher has spent the last few years in Wollongong, including playing some junior representative football.

Hay believes the forward will be a great addition to the side while his older brother Bas was part of Leeton's campaign to celebrate their centenary season with a premiership this year.

The outside back helped the Greens to an almost perfect season, losing just once to Griffith Black and Whites, before the season was called off.

He has links with Brothers co-coach Brodie Rigg.

"Bas was a very good centre when Brodie played against him in Wollongong and that is where we want to play him next year," Hay said.

"He's played enough back row so if he fits into the back row he will be fine there too."

The signings come after the addition of Troy Dargin in the halves for 2022.

Hay hopes Dargin can add some more experience to the youthful side, many of whom had a tough initiation to first grade this season.

He is also looking to give some members of their successful Weissel Cup side more of an opportunity next year.

Boosting their depth is one area the club really wants to focus on following a mass exodus after making finals in 2020.

"Our biggest issue this year was numbers and player depth," Hay said.

"We had blokes having to play two games every weekend but I think we are up to 25 blokes who are signed and keen to push for first grade spots.

"That will keep competition healthy.

"We're also got six or seven under 18s who will be graduating up to senior footy as well.

"A lot of them have already played first grade so they will be pushing for spots as well.

"The first thing we need to do in the pre-season is get the club back into a strong position player number wise and depth of talent wise before we can set some goals from there."

Hay doesn't expect another high turnover rate as the club looks to get back on track with George Collins-Kelleher their only loss at this stage.

He also expects Maleke Morris will line up for Brothers in 2022 after sitting out last year with a knee complaint.
