A proud local of more than 40 years, Mr Weston has served as a Councillor since 1995 and in the position of Deputy Mayor for the last 12 years.
Mr Weston said he was running for council again 'for the love of the community'.
"I have a passion for the community of Leeton and the people who live here," Mr Weston said.
According to Mr Weston, sustainability and the long term growth of the community were at the forefront of his campaign.
"It's more than just rates and roads, we need to become more sustainable and look after ourselves instead of being swallowed by Griffith and Wagga," Mr Weston said.
"I'm a big advocate for childcare, making sure we have adequate and accessible childcare services available to help young mothers, especially those who don't have extended family to rely on, to get back into the workforce.
"Childcare is really important to boosting the economy."

When speaking with The Irrigator, Mr Weston said he was a 'solution person'.
"We need to bring the problems facing our town together with solutions," Mr Weston said.
According to Mr Weston, he would miss working alongside current and retiring Mayor Paul Maytom and would be interested in putting his hat in the ring for the position if re elected as Councillor.
"Paul has been a fantastic Mayor, he has been very stable and we have achieved a lot of good things together," Mr Weston said.
