And with experiences in education, leadership and management, Mr Barwick believes he has the skills necessary to make a difference within Leeton Shire Council.
"As an elected councillor, I'll encourage the Leeton Shire to be responsive to community issues and needs," Mr Barwick said.
In particular, Mr Barwick would like to see the successful completition of the Roxy development during the next council term.
"The Roxy is a critical piece of community infrastructure," Mr Barwick said.
"It will offer huge creative potential to local families and will widen entertainment choices alongside developing local creative skills.
"Once opened, the Roxy will also provide further commercial opportunities through multiple onsite venues and hosting opportunities for conferences and public events."

According to Mr Barwick, he was also eager to facilitate the opening a heated swimming pool to assist local therapy and injury rehabilitation.
"This will help improve the health outcomes of all our citizens and allow local swimming training all year round," Mr Barwick said.
"Recreational facilities build community and keep us all healthy."
Moreover, Mr Barwick told The Irrigator that he wanted the newly formed Council to be stronger advocates at the state level for the improvement of medical and maternity services at Leeton District Hospital.
"Babies arrive at all times of the day," Mr Barwick said.
"Councillors must argue for local maternity services at Leeton Hospital."
Mr Barwick said that he 'has time to give' and that now was the time to run for a position on Council.
"I have time to give to the position of a councillor and contribute in a meaningful and considered way to our town," Mr Barwick said.
