Tony Ciccia wants to see Leeton receive the medical services it deserves if he were elected to a second term as Councillor in the upcoming Local Government Elections.
Born and bred in Leeton, Councillor Ciccia has strong ties to farming and agribusiness, and has a broad understanding of the people and businesses that make up the fabric of the community.

"I have a strong connection with the town and being a Councillor deepens that connection, it puts you in touch with people from all rungs of life," Councillor Ciccia said.
"It gives me great satisfaction to be help and serve a diverse range of people."
After being elected in 2016 for the first time, Mr Ciccia has been a keen advocate for the strengthening of medical services on offer to the community, something he tells The Irrigator that he wants to continue fighting for.
" A major area of concern is our local hospital, there has been unanimous support both in council and in the community to have a doctor on call," Cnr Ciccia said.
"Having a doctor on call gives people a great deal of confidence and it's something I want to strive for and gain for the residents of Leeton."
Councillor Ciccia suggested that Council could potentially offer a further financial incentive to attract medical professionals to the region.
"If it's okay for our state and federal colleagues to have that access to essential medical services then it should be good enough for people in rural Australia as well," Cnr Ciccia said.

According to Councillor Ciccia, he also wanted to see more money invested in outlying regions of the Leeton Shire.
"It would be great to invest more funds in communities such as Whitton, Yanco, Murrami and Wamoon, particularly in roads and drainage, I think they need more attention," Cnr Ciccia said.
Councillor Ciccia also noted that he would like to encourage the continued support of local businesses, especially through big projects such as the new grandstand at the Leeton Showground to keep the money within the community.
"I want Council look at investing in projects that could see positive return to council," Cnr Ciccia said.
"There is a strain on the general fund at the moment due to falling cash rates and reduced sales from water so would be nice to look at projects to return some money back into the council coffers to reinvest within the Leeton Shire."
According to Councillor Ciccia, his 'approachable, friendly nature' made him a good fit for local council.
"I'm driven by wanting to see the town progress, much like everyone else running for election," Cnr Ciccia said.
"We will have at least two new candidates for the next term at least so it will be great to have some new ideas in the mix.
