FOLLOWING the deluge of rain the week before, the Leeton and District Bowling Club ladies were happy to be on the greens last Thursday.
Eighteen players on the day allowed for three games of triples.
Elaine Sullivan, who scored a resting toucher with her first bowl of the day, Mary Patten and Diane Colyer were defeated by Joan Lloyd, Faye Harris and Jan Fitzpatrick.
Jan Walker, Heather Hoad and Joan Bourke were victorious after winning nine of the 14 ends played against Hilary Chambers, Jean Leighton and Marika Pete.
Patti Wakeman, Denise Naylor and Linda Barnes defeated Dot Semmler, Lorraine Messner and Jan Carroll.
Semmler's team, after giving away six shots on the fourth end, were unable to catch up, losing the game by four.
