At about 5am on Saturday, a 26-year-old man requested people leave his home on Cassia Road, Leeton.

The man's father attended the property and again asked them to leave; to which they complied.

At about 11am that day, a 26-year-old man was woken by three males - one carrying a baseball bat - inside his home on Cassia Road, Leeton.

Police alleged he was hit several times with the bat.

"It will be further alleged two of the males held the man in place while the third man continued to assault him," a NSW Police statement said.

"The man escaped to a friend's house, where they contacted NSW Ambulance paramedics. Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

"Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Acacia Avenue, Leeton, about 8.30am on Tuesday, and arrested a 22-year-old man."

NSW Police stated that during the search, officers seized cannabis and methylamphetamine, an electronic stun device, as well as clothing and a vehicle.

The man was taken to Leeton Police Station where he was charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence - wound, and aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence - inflict actual bodily harm.

The Leeton man was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court on January 12.

NSW Police stated that inquiries are continuing.
