Lillypilly Estate Winery has at least a week or two remaining for its late harvest varieties, but winemaker Robert Fiumara believes it has been a good year so far.
"So far it's been going very good," he said.
"We've had dry conditions, so we were able to get everything in ... the yields have been slightly down, but the quality is excellent.
"I would say we've completed about 80 per cent of our production and we'll finish up sometime after Easter.
"Luckily this year we had favourable weather conditions and the rain we had a couple of weeks ago didn't have any adverse effects."
About 280 to 300 kilotonnes (1000 metric tonnes) of grapes was expected to be harvested across the region during this year's vintage.
Toorak Winery winemaker Robert Bruno said it had been a busy vintage.
"We are pretty much finished now," he said.
"Yields were down, but after the last two years being wet seasons, we are really happy with the grapes we got in this year.
"It's been very pleasing to see a dry year this year because we've had a lower disease pressure, which is what we were hoping for.
"The wines are still fermenting, but we will be looking at bottling very soon. I think the reds this year are the best we've ever seen.
"The grapes we've had coming in are just spectacular."
