Mrs Semmler was recognised for 70 years of service to the Barellan branch of Red Cross Australia at a short presentation on Wednesday at the aged care facility.
Current members of the Barellan branch attended the morning, as well as zone representative Dawn Smith.
Mrs Semmler was presented with a certificate, citation and medal to recognise her many decades of service.
"I feel very honoured," she said.
"I don't feel I deserve it though."
Mrs Semmler was involved in many facets of the branch since joining in 1942, including cooking for street stalls and branch functions, knitting balaclavas for soldiers in World War II, organising farewells for departing soldiers and celebrations when they arrived home.
She was involved in many fund-raisers and was often in charge of entertainment at a Christmas party the branch held each year.
Mrs Smith said Mrs Semmler's involvement had been inspiring for other branch members.
Current Barellan branch president Jean Inglis said 70 years was a long time to be involved and Mrs Semmler's efforts were appreciated.
"She has set a very high goal for the rest of our members to live up to," Mrs Inglis said. "I don't know if it will ever happen again."
A morning tea was held following the presentation, with other residents at the lodge joining in.
