Against tough competition, the 15-year-old won the intermediate category, pulling out all the stops to impress the judges with a mix of "360s" and "toboggans", which saw him get airborne then take his hand off the handlebars and grab the seat.
"I only started riding again four days before the competition," Anthony said, adding he was proud of his win.
"I went riding with a mate and decided I'd give it a go."
On Monday, more than 400 people lined Leeton's skate park to watch about 35 competitors battle it out in BMX, skateboard and scooter competitions as part of the championships, with each competitor getting little more than 60 seconds to impress the judges.
The competition had junior, intermediate and open categories.
Leeton Shire Council community service officer Jackson Goman said the thrilling event captured the attention of young people and families.
"The crowd was a good mix and the whole event had a good atmosphere," Mr Goman said.
"The judges said they were impressed with the high-calibre of competition and the talent shown by individual competitors."
Sydney-based Ryan Helm took out the open skate category and Riggs Cup, while Griffith-based Ingvar Neumann took out the open BMX category. Junior BMX winner was Griffith's Richie Spencer, while talented teenager Anthony Hosie took out his second category for the day, the junior scooter competition.
The event was used as a fund-raiser for the Leeton Youth Committee, with spectators asked for a gold coin donation.
Money raised will go towards stage two of the skate park redevelopment.
"Stage two will see the skate park become more of a street-style plaza," Mr Goman, who is also on the committee, said.
The event made up part of the program for the Leeton SunRice Festival.
