THE countdown is on to another twilight golf season, with more than 30 teams entered in this year's competition that will tee off on Monday.
Not a lot has changed with the format, with a couple of minor tweaks to the already-successful formula focusing on player enjoyment and an old fashioned, stress-free round of golf.
This season's event will be "preferred lies" through the green, which means everywhere except if you're in a hazard or over the fence.
So, wherever the ball finishes it can be marked, cleaned and sitting up on a nice lie as long as it is within a card length of where it originally lay.
If you are a player that completes twilight golf commitments alongside a weekly competition, you will have to play the competition preferred lie rule of "fairway only", as well as the men hitting off the blue tee markers.
The duration off this season's event is the same as in the past, with 11 pre-Christmas rounds in play, followed by a three-week break and another 11 rounds, with teams split into divisions that will be based on eventual team numbers.
Teams still consist of eight per side, with the best five counting towards the team total.
If you're having a bad hole you can pick it up for a maximum of 10 and start fresh on the next.
Competition will be fierce again with all of the top teams from last season entering.
The likes of Balls Deep, Swig N Swing and the Whymees will all be at their consistent best and will most certainly challenge for a top-four spot in division one.
The LUFC Drop Bears, who took out the comp last season will be slower out of the blocks after losing the majority of their handicap, while winning the big prize in March.
The Crowaholics don't deserve a mention after only four showed up for the Granny last season due to sleeping in on the day.
Team Triple Bogey will threaten the top grade and the minor divisions should feature the likes of The Superwash Mates, Super Imposers, and The Unquenchables and Murrami Magic.
The twilight golfing association would like to welcome the new teams for the season, while offering a prayer to those sides who are no longer with us.
RIP The Legends, Fig Jam Fran and Still Tryin.
New players are welcome as there are plenty of teams that are not yet filled.
All golfers of all abilities are welcome, including men, ladies and juniors.
Lastly, the golf club grounds and new pergola area are licensed areas, meaning alcohol can only be purchased from the pro shop and cannot be brought onto the course.
Players that do so will be asked to leave.
Memberships are available for twilighters wanting a discounted rate on their fees and team shirts with embroidery from $45 onwards.
