THE 2014-15 mini trotting season began with seven ponies hitting the track as part of the 2014 Leeton Show.
With plenty of varied and unusual sights and sounds, the show is always quite testing for even the calmest of ponies, but all drivers managed to pull up after three races still smiling and in control.
After the retirement of Demascus at the end of last season, all were pleased to see Dylan Smith and his new pony My Little Rocket make their first appearance at competition level.

Each competitor was presented with a medallion on behalf of the show society as a memento of the occasion and there was also a champion ribbon based on a point score over all three races.
Joint winners were Shadow and Willie Wagtail with drivers of the grey ponies, Danika and Siarne, most impressed to accept and share the award.
The Leeton Mini Trotting Club (LMTC) executive thanked Leeton Show Society for the opportunity to race at the show and expose the wider community to the sport, hoping to be invited back to be part of the 100th anniversary show.
Congratulations to all the drivers for making the effort to compete along with their supporters who help before and after.
The whisper around the stables is that LMTC may next be racing at the Griffith Harness Racing Club meeting on November 16 at Dalton Park.
Leeton Harness Racing Club's next meeting is on December 6 and the minis are set to be in attendance, with the first race about half an hour before race one of the "big horses".
