The annual MS Charity Golf Day was held last Sunday, with a full card of 160 players taking part.
Now in its 19th year, MIA branch of MS Australia president Joan Dartnell was impressed with the participation rate.
"They came from all over the region, so I think the word is getting out there," Mrs Dartnell said.
"We had great support from the players and the business houses too.
"I think without a doubt people know about MS and that's why they like taking part in the golf day."
MS is an inflammatory disease in where the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged.
Many Leeton shire residents suffer from the disease and that's where the MIA branch comes in to help.
Mrs Dartnell said all money raised at the golf event and other fund-raisers during the year went a long way in helping Leeton shire patients.
"Every dollar we get helps," she said.
"We have these events so we can raise enough money to help people with different services, disability equipment, hydrotherapy sessions and other bits of assistance.
"It's very expensive to modify homes for people with MS, so money goes to helping with that as well.
"All of the money raised stays here, which is another reason why people like to help out."
