The exhibition was held over the Easter long weekend, with residents turning out in their droves to take a look at the artwork on display.
This year the overall winner of the acquisitive prize was Scott McGrevy, who will now have his piece on display at Leeton Shire Council.
Leeton Art Society secretary Vita Vitelli described the event as a true testament to the late Mrs Paniz.
“She would be extremely proud of all the works that were on display,” Mrs Vitelli said.
“I think she would also be impressed that the art world is growing in Leeton.
“It was a wonderful weekend.
“I thought it was good to see so many people coming in and just taking their time looking through all of the work.
“It was pretty special.”
Mrs Vitelli said the art scene in Leeton continued to grow and that was relected as part of the competition.
“This year we had almost double the entries compared to last year,” she said.
“It’s very pleasing.
“I think the other thing people like with our competition is that it’s for Leeton shire people only.
“They enjoy seeing the work being produced and how many talented people we have living here.
“It’s amazing.
“We’re really proud of how this year’s exhibition went.
“Hopefully it will be just as big a success next year.”
Mrs Vitelli said there was more opportunity for artists in the region and said the arts competition helped with this.
She welcomed any new members to Leeton Art Society.
“We’ve got plenty happening throughout the year,” she said.
“There’s workshops every week with (art society president Ann Rayment).
“We’re a friendly bunch.
“You have to start somewhere if you’re interested in learning how to paint.
“It's a great group to be part of.”
