Griffith Local Area Command Detective Inspector Paul Smith said although the Leeton and Griffith areas had experienced some reprieve in property theft offences, especially break and enters, there had been an increase in incidents in the past week.
“This has included both residential and commercial premises and vehicles being stolen and or stolen from,” he said.
“Police seek your assistance in making it more difficult for thieves to steal your property.
“Review your current security arrangements at home and or at work. Remove valuables from vehicles. Keep alert in your neighbourhood and work environment and report suspicious activity.”
Leeton police can be contacted on 6953 1399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
