Our senior citizens have a story to tell.
Each and every one of them has lived an interesting life whether it was in Leeton shire or some place else before ending up here.
These residents are an endless source of knowledge and wisdom and I’m glad someone such as artist Louise Cooper was thoughtful enough to come up with the idea of putting these stories to paper.
If she didn’t – where would all of these memories and tales go?
It’s important to record their version of history and what they have come to learn over the years.
It’s important that we respect and admire all they have done for us.
All too often we take a senior citizens for granted or cast them off as just being “too old” and “no use”.
That is simply not true.
What we all need to remember is these are the people that have had a hand in building the great shire in which we live.
We could only be so lucky to follow in their footsteps and turn out to be half the people they are.
Always remember time is ticking and one day it could be too late to chat with a certain person and hear their life story. The time is now.
Bravo Leeton shire senior citizens.
