The season, which gets underway on Saturday, will be the 20th anniversary of the club since it was reformed in 1995.
Earlier this year the club held a re-union for those players that were part of the club between 1965 and 1986.
The club went into recess from 1986 until 1995 when it was reformed and has continued to operate successfully ever since.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary since the reformation, the “modern” era of Colts will be holding their own re-union on March 19 at the Leeton Soldiers Club.
Former Colts president and player Barry Greatz said a list of close to 300 current and ex-players from A, B and C grades had been compiled and organisers were attempting to contact everyone via Facebook to notify them of the event.
“In the decade between 1995 and 2005 the LSC Colts A grade side did not play in a single grand final of the Leeton competition,” he said.
“However in the next decade between the 2005-06 and 2014-15, the club has played in six of the 10 A grade grand finals, winning four premierships.
“The club has provided the only Leeton player to represent the Australia Country XI when Nathan Greatz was selected to open the bowling against the Queensland Bulls Sheffield Shield team in 2003.”
Greatz and another former player Mark Shelley have represented the NSW Country XI and Riverina Zone Opens XI during this era, as well as Garth Chambers, Brian Conroy, Matt Curry and Brendon Greatz.
Current club president and senior Colts player Josh Carn was hopeful the upcoming season would bring success.
“We’re hoping for a big year on and off the field,” he said.
“It would be good to see plenty of faces come back for the reunion too. We’re really looking forward to it.
“All past players, current players and basically anyone that has had something to do with the club in the past 20 years is more than welcome to attend.”
For more information about the reunion, which will be held on the eve of the 2015-16 two-day grand final, contact Carn on 0419 212 825 or Greatz on 0429 126 338. Details of the reunion, including a list of names, can be found on the notice board at the Leeton Soldiers Club.
